'Drake - Summer Sixteen', 'Meek Mill - War Paint' (Track Review)
New Drake song, New Meek Mill song review, Welcome to 'Thatsup Track Review'. Drake and Meek Mill has surpassed levels most wouldn't acknowledge, with Drake challenging singing, rapping and now getting into rap beefs not the Drake one would see coming 2 years back, then again its hiphop it's only normal. And with Meek Mill having Nicki Minaj for himself, getting into rap beefs with Drake or even 50 Cent, We could talk all day on accomplishments so lets not.
Thatsup: Overall great production from Drake if your a fan of the WATTBA project then you'll definitely enjoy this song also. Drake is known for not shying away from trying different music. Known for making hits but also known to strike attention, this track was great i would say from the lyrics hitting straight to the point, the heavy hitting 808's simple but melodic melody very catchy, that's what Drake is known for making catchy music. How would one win in a rap beef with Drake when this guy is so into music, yea yea rappers now a days have no substance it's like they all have the same rap sheet to say the same thing over and over again. I give this track a 10/10 only because Drake has proven over and over again he should not be tested, it doesn't matter who, where, how the lyrics came about for this song Drake is the one who made it a song i promise, i don't think another rapper would bring the same effect. Wonderful production on the instrumental finally something new to the Trap genre. (you can listen the song here)
Thatsup: Overall great production if your a fan of sample hip-hop music, very heavy New-York influenced sound. Meek Mill is more the hardcore street MC where his lyrics hit the nerve. Taking it back to the days when i first saw Meek Mill's 'Ya'll Don't Hear Me Tho' video just like that Im a fan, that's the Meek Mill i expect on all tracks and that's the Meek Mill we got on 'War Paint', heavy 808's hard hitting lyrics as the snares and kicks bangs over a classical hip-hop instrumental. We could've gotten more but its music and Meek Mill is doing something totally different two its like Drake and Meek Mill trading places for a day, Meek is known for not holding back, not giving up and he keeps coming back, That's a fighter a true one, very nice track Meek. Omelly also did a great job filling in at the 2nd verse, I enjoy two great rappers going back an forth on a track not only that but sticking up for each other. Still awaiting some new Meek Mill project, Meek get back with Jahlil you two work best. I give this track a 10/10 for Meek. (you can listen the song here)
