General Hospital Has Been Renewed by ABC; Big News GH Viewers
Thatsup.info is excited to report that Varni revealed that unlike NBC's Days of Our Lives and CBS' The Young and the Restless, GH does not have a production partner. The ABC sudser is owned solely by the network. Varni brought up that GH is renewed indefinitely until it is canceled. Nathan continued to say that as of right now, GH seems to be ‘renewed’.
General Hospital is one of ABC’s longest running television shows. It has been on the air for 54 years and over 13,000 episodes! It is also one of the most recognizable television shows in TV history!
Perhaps because ABC owns General Hospital outright, the network sometimes doesn’t announce if their sole surviving soap opera has been renewed for another season. (They didn’t make an announcement about the 2016-17 season.) Of course, they’d certainly let us know if the show had been canceled. Will GH survive to see a 55th season (2017-18)? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting on April 1st of 1963, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. The current season’s cast includes Vinessa Antoine, Maurice Benard, Teresa Castillo, Tyler Christopher, Matt Cohen, William deVry, Chad Duell, Sonya Eddy, Jane Elliot, Kathleen Gati, Nancy Lee Grahn, Carolyn Hennesy, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, Lisa Lo Cicero, Billy Miller, Kelly Monaco, Ryan Paevey, Haley Pullos, Brytni Sarpy, Kirsten Storms, Robert Palmer Watkins, Maura West, Laura Wright, and Dominic Zamprogna.
