Kassie DePaiva Makes Appearance at Pre-Emmy Event!
Thatsup.info has learned that Kassie DePaiva (Eve) made her first public appearance since defeating her battle with leukemia. She's pictured with former "Days" star Melissa Archer (Serena) and Brittany Underwood.
DePaiva began her career at 18 as a solo artist at the Grand Ole Opry. After her stint in Nashville, she attended both Indiana University and UCLA, studying theatre, dropping out before graduation to entertain USO troops in Asia. DePaiva made her debut in daytime originating the role of Chelsea Reardon on Guiding Light (October 1986–January 1991). On Monday, November 29, 1993, she began portraying her most notable role, the part of Blair Daimler Cramer on One Life to Live, formerly portrayed by half-Asian actress, Mia Korf. She first appeared Friday, December 17, 1993, and was with OLTL for nearly 19 years until the series was canceled. DePaiva's pairing with the character Todd Manning struck a cord with viewers. In 2012, she reprised her role of Blair for several guest stints on ABC's daytime serial General Hospital.
In January 2014, Soap Opera Digest confirmed that DePaiva had joined the cast of the NBC serial Days of Our Lives as Eve Donovan. DePaiva made her debut on July 18, 2014. In September 2015, Depaiva was let go from the soap with her last appearance on February 2, 2016.
Back in (August 25, 2016) The very-talented actress Kassie DePaiva shared a lengthy post on her website saying: I know that I have been quiet lately and I want to let you know what's been going on in my life. I was asked back to play Eve on Days and had begun my exciting return. During the 3 week July hiatus I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and have spent 6 of the last 9 weeks in the hospital. I will continue treatment over the next 3 months. My prognosis is good, I will not likely need a stem cell/bone marrow transplant, and we expect a complete cure. I consider this just a bump in the road. I have amazing prayer warriors, family, and friends that have been extremely supportive and life affirming throughout this.
I have a strong faith that strengthens me every step of the way. This has been a private matter but with Eve's return coming soon I felt it was time to let my loving fans know what's been going on. The Days and OLTL family love runs deep. Although I'm unable to be "camera ready" now... my goal is get back to stirring up trouble in Salem soon. Keep me in you thoughts and prayers.
