POLL: Should Michael Muhney Return to Genoa City; The Young and the Restless?
Should Michael Muhney Return to Genoa City; The Young and the Restless? With Justin Hartley maintaining his role with his new NBC drama, This Is Us, returning to Y&R just might affect his soap time-schedule. Fans are always-wondering if this will open the door for Michael Muhney to return to the CBS show.
Meanwhile, Adam Newman always had a prominent story line, the writers don’t want to push integral characters into the background. Hartley did a great job bouncing between the Mistresses set and Y&R during the 2014-2015 television season, so there is no doubt he’s capable of doing it again. However, Justin Hartley's This Is Us continues to be one of the buzziest new shows for fall 2016-17. It’s possible that the drama will bring him a new level of success in his career.
Will Y&R take the risk of having Muhney back on the set? Muhney does have strong support from many longtime fans, but what about those fans who still oppose his return? There are lots of questions to be answered, but it certainly adds an air of excitement to CBS daytime.
“I just read through all the comments in this petition,” he tweeted. “Brought tears to my eyes. So blown away by people’s passion for my work.”
Daytime fans are notoriously loyal, and Muhney is grateful for their continued support. “I just feel like all I ever want to say is ‘thank you’ for being positive, for encouragement, for your passion and enthusiasm for my craft.
“It’s a rare thing to capture this much passion and support and encouragement from fans,” he added. “I feel honored to have found a pace in your hearts.”
Muhney has also admitted that he is a very different person than he was a couple years ago when he left Y&R. “I’ve been on a journey for several years,” he wrote. “Moved away from the me that fought too many battles and covered up insecurities with ego. I just know that I like myself a lot more now than I did years ago. Had to let go of the hard-headedness. It’s a good feeling to let it go.”
